Friends, Again, there's plenty of evidence pointing to the fact that the car manufacturing industry is enjoying the best time of their life! Even in America and in England the records are being broken, just as they are here in Australia. But not all companies are sharing in the success of record sales. The market is changing. For example, BMW, Porsche and Volkswagen are relatively new to the big 4x4 SUV market. Now the challenge to Jeep, Land Rover, Mitsubishi, Nissan and Toyota is being taken up by Saab. Who is going to throw their hat into the ring next? Let's speculate for a moment. Will Subaru come on board with a big one? What about Peugeot? And what about Kia, who are keen for continuing success. It's easy to see why Ford is heading that way with their new RWD and AWD Territory. And the Ford Territory is not far away now! Warm regards, |

In 1965, Fiat released their 850 coupe, which was based on the 850 sedan which had been announced the previous year. The little coupe was powered by a newly designed 843cc rear-mounted 4-cylinder engine. The stylish body design remained throughout it's production life, although a mid-life upgrade in 1968 seen a revision to the front-end. The original two-headlight design was replaced by a four-headlight design. The 'inboard' pair were set somewhat lower than the outboard pair. The 1968 upgrade seen the engine increased in capacity to 903cc. The 850 coupe was sold in Australia between 1966 and 1971. It was the last rear-engined Fiat to be sold in Australia. Stephen Walker |

at the news Early Monday morning (5/4/04), just as the sun was coming up, I checked five Australian automotive websites. Not
one of them had the story of the new Land Rover Discovery 3! It seems they
had yet to hear about the new Land Rover. Next Car was pleased to bring the story to you mid-afternoon Friday 2/4/04.
Once again, we were first with breaking news. We're not always first, but we'll do our best to be there.
