FROM THE EDITOR'S DESK

Friends,

The latest news from Britain suggests MG, under the ownership of Nanjing Automotive Group, will make it to production again. Nanjing, from China, has been shopping for British partners to assist them with product and production planning. It will be a slow process, but it seems reasonable to expect production of the TF or a derivative to begin in about a year or so at Longbridge (England). Other models are expected after this. But in my view, the early steps taken to secure a decent future for MG look somewhat shaky. But with fingers crossed, perhaps some good news will come with a successful revival of MG. I, for one, live in hope that MG will never wear a 'Made in China' label!

Warm regards,
Stephen Walker

The Editor's Pick Of The News

After reading the news, which story did you enjoy the most?

Last year we revealed the new Astra convertible would become a coupe/cabriolet, following the lead set by Peugeot and Mercedes-Benz and since followed by Renault, Ford, Mitsubishi, Volkswagen and Volvo. And last week we were the first Australian media outlet to show the first images of the new Astra TwinTop. This very popular body style (coupe/cabriolet) is bound to become even more popular. If the success of the outstanding Peugeot 307 CC can be used as a judge, then the delights of this type of car will be enjoyed by many more buyers.
