NEXT CAR'S NEWSLETTER
23rd JUNE, 2005

WELCOME
to our newsletter #53

FROM THE EDITOR'S DESK

Friends,

The announcement, last year, that Daewoo was leaving Australia disappointed me greatly. But it wasn't too long afterwards that I worked it all out. Daewoo was leaving in name only. It was quite clear that Daewoo products would return. And we said as much. Now the proof has been provided. Holden have confirmed what Next Car readers have known since 19/9/04. Daewoo will return! And that's good news

Our Silly Suburban Signs segment will be a feature of our newsletter from this issue. Those who get a kick out of strange signs should be invited to subscribe to our newsletter. Please feel free to forward this newsletter to folks who may be interested.

Warm regards,
Stephen Walker

The Editor's Pick Of The News

After reading the news, which story did you enjoy the most?

Let's look at a quote from our test of the Mitsubishi Magna VR-X AWD from last November .....

"We cannot say the Magna is a powerful car, because it isn't! But the power from the 3.5 litre V6 is certainly quite ample for the target market. Hot shot drivers are more likely to be looking towards one of the other local 6-cylinder sporty cars. But for those who aren't seeking back-breaking acceleration then the VR-X AWD is certainly an attractive option."

..... Magna is adequately powered, but the news that Mitsubishi is lifting the power of the next Magna is good news. A common perception is that Australian drivers enjoy plenty of power. Now it seems Mitsubishi will provide increased power in the new Magna, which is due for release in October ..... read our story ..... here.

It's the editor's pick of the news.
