FROM THE EDITOR'S DESK

Friends,

Greetings from Western Australia once again.

The October figures for new car sales will be released this coming week. You can be fairly certain that the figures will reveal the market for new cars continues to boom. The car makers are in a great position. But one category of players in the market is in an even better position. And that's the consumers. The choice on offer continues to expand and this is exciting news for car buyers. It's making competition for your dollar fierce ..... and this will remain so!

Warm regards,
Stephen Walker

    Car Club Corner

Here's a listing of some of the nation's car clubs.

The Colt 800 of 1965 had fastback styling, a feature which proved to be the first for a Japanese manufacturer. In 1966, the Colt 1000F made its appearance. It retained the styling of the 800 but featured a more powerful 4-cyIinder engine. One year later, a 3-door hatchback version became available for the first time in Japan. The Colt 1100F 3-door Sports and Super Sports were announced in 1968. The car in this photo is the 1100F 3-door Sports. Maximum speed: 140 km/h. Acceleration 0-400m: 19.7 seconds.

    Kia KCV-III concept car

Kia's sporty concept car, the KCV-III, was to appear in Sydney, at the 2004 Australian International Motor Show earlier this month ..... but ..... there was an accident with the loading of the car, in South Korea. As a consequence, the car didn't make it to Sydney. Presumably, the loaders were directed not to come Monday.
