Friends, It's been a busy week which has generated a lot of news. And we have two road tests this week. There's the Lotus Elise road test included in this weeks newsletter and on Sunday we'll have the Ford Escape XLS road test published on the website. It's enough to make this weeks issue a "bumper" edition. Enjoy your reading, as you enjoy your weekend. Warm regards, |

PICK OF THE WEEK After reading the news of the week, which story did you enjoy the most? The Typhoon was shown earlier this year, as a concept, at the Melbourne Motor Show. But details were sketchy at best. But now the news is out. The F6 Typhoon arrives as a regular production model, along with the BA series II models in October, when it makes its debut at the Sydney Motor Show (I mean the Australian International Motor Show). And the news is good: exciting colours, 6-speed manual gearbox and a high performance turbo-charged 4-litre 6-cylinder engine makes the news of the F6 Typhoon my pick of the week! ..... read the story Stephen Walker |

The editor remains interested in the Territorys sales achievements,
since he stuck his neck out
before it's release and suggested that,
unlike some cross-over models, that the Territory would make it.

The new Alfa Romeo 166 will be here within weeks.
With the debut of Virgil Exner’s new “million dollar look” styling for 1955, Chrysler gained a bold and handsome coupe body that could give expression to the power and performance potential of its remarkable "Firepower" V-8 engine. This HEMI V-8, originally introduced in 1951, was mated with the superb, fully automatic "Powerflite" transmission, which had been introduced in 1953. Modifying the HEMI with a special camshaft and two four-barrel carburetors resulted in an unprecedented 300 horsepower. Dubbed the C-300 within the company (there had been a C-200 convertible showcar in 1952), the car debuted as the "Chrysler 300" in February 1955. Available only as a coupe in a selection of 3 colours (red, black or white) it featured heavy-duty suspension and a specially badged New Yorker coupe body customized with Windsor and Imperial body parts. more |
