Friends, There's plenty of news for you to read this weekend! During the week I had the pleasure of addressing the Great Lakes Historic Automobile Club. They're a great bunch of folks with a very active Club. I look forward to other opportunities with them and, indeed, other Car Clubs too. Have you seen the new Ford Territory yet? If not, it won't be long and you will, as there seems to be plenty of them getting around now (certainly in the big cities at least). Warm regards, |

The Range Rover arrived in 1970, thus expanding Land Rover's model line-up. It was powered by Rover's 3.5 litre V8. Suspension was coil springs, which changed people's perceptions of 4x4's. Coupled with other features, the Range Rover provided the 4x4 market with some luxury. In time, power steering and automatic transmission would become available. Much later a 4-door version came along as did even more luxurious models. Today's Range Rover still has a Range Rover look about it, which says a lot about the style which existed with the original model! Stephen Walker |

PICK OF THE WEEK After reading the news of this week, which story did you appreciate the most? For me it's an unusual story this time, in as much as it's a development rather than a specific product which excites me. The British engineers who have developed a re-inforced plastic trailer are providing good news for us all. If you haven't read the story, have a quick look, please. This development will reduce the rapidly expanding oil consumption rate, without doubt! We've seen plastic toy trailers in the past, now we can see real trailers in plastic! ..... more Stephen Walker |
