FROM THE EDITOR'S DESK

Friends,

Are you keen to see the new Ford Territory? Some dealers have already accepted delivery of their first batch. It'll be available from 1st June.

The market is much bigger than Territory (without taking anything away from Ford's new car) so there is plenty of other new news. And there's plenty more coming, too!

Warm regards,
Stephen Walker

    LOOKING BACK

The Pininfarina designed Peugeot 405 hit the streets of Europe in late 1987. It was available in various forms in Australia, from early 1989 to 1997. In total, over 2,500,000 405's were sold around the world. A successful model, in anyone's language! Variants included petrol and diesel, manual and automatic, sedan and wagon, FWD and 4x4, but none were more attractive than this Mi16 model, which featured a mildly high-performing 1.9 litre transverse mounted 4-cylinder engine with 108kW of power.

    EDITOR'S
    PICK OF THE WEEK

After reading the news of this week, which story did you appreciate the most?   From my perspective, the continuing story of the Ford Territory must rate as the #1 story this week. It's the most anticipated release ever, I would imagine. But it's apparent that Ford are playing their cards right with this one. The car seems to be the right car at the right time. The competitors have no similar product, so keep the news coming and keep the buyers away from the competitor's showrooms. Nothing wrong with that!

    What's coming? ..... What's not coming!

    Chrysler PT Cruiser convertible

The Mexican Chrysler factory will be producing a right-hand drive PT Cruiser convertible. Australia is on the list for a supply of the soft-top version of one of the world's most trendy cars. But don't expect it soon. It's due to arrive in Australia in 2006!

In other PT news, we can report that the turbo powered PT Cruiser won't make it to Australia.

But late this year there will be a updated PT Cruiser released. It will be powered by a 2.4 litre 4-cylinder engine. How trendy will the PT be then?
