NEXT CAR'S NEWSLETTER
13th FEBRUARY, 2004

WELCOME
to our newsletter #1

FROM THE EDITOR'S DESK

Friends,

It's been a delightful experience working these past few months towards our goal of having a well planned and well laid out automotive website. Our plan is centred around our "easy reading" format. Happy with our site's development, we began promoting the site in late January. Now we're getting feedback from all around the nation and, even, two e-mails from foreign readers! There's no boundaries on the world wide web. And there's no boundaries in our quest to make your automotive reading time as interesting and as enjoyable as possible. We'll have plenty of topics coming along as time unfolds.

Your feedback is always welcome.

We trust you'll enjoy this first newsletter.

Warm regards,
Stephen Walker

    LOOKING BACK

With a completely new body, Holden's longest and widest yet, the HD offered big increases in passenger and load space, higher equipment levels, larger, self-adjusting brakes, optional front discs, new balljoint front suspension, alternator and two-speed Powerglide auto transmission. It also gave buyers the greatest choice yet: eight models, an expanded option list and three engines, including the powerful, twin carburettor 2.95 litre 'X2' version of the 179 ci 6, which developed 105kW.
Base price when new: £1160 ($2,320).
    Total number built: 178,927.

  • EDITOR'S
    PICK OF THE WEEK

After reading the news of this week, which story did you appreciate the most?   For me, I must say I really enjoyed reading about Skoda's good fortunes. Everyone knows about Skoda's robust cars of the past, so it delighted me to read of the brand's success with next week's milestone being the production of the 1 millionth Octavia. A great achievement given the history of the former eastern bloc. Skoda is now controlled by Volkswagen and it seems they are doing a great job!
