The award was presented to Dr Martin Winterkorn, CEO of the Volkswagen Group at the Axel-Springer-Haus in Berlin. Over 30,000 pre-orders for the new Volkswagen have been received throughout Europe; more than a third were ordered in Germany.

At the awards ceremony, Dr Martin Winterkorn said, “Two days prior to the German launch of the Tiguan the Golden Steering Wheel in the SUV category is a kick-off present and good omen all in one."
