Volkswagen has confirmed production of the beautiful
Concept C convertible first shown as a concept car at the Geneva Motor Show in
March.
The glorious new four-seat convertible will be manufactured at Volkswagen’s
Palmela plant in Portugal – one of Europe’s most modern automotive facilities.
In sizing, the new convertible is positioned between the Golf and the Passat.
The folding steel roof is a technical masterpiece and can convert this new
Volkswagen from a coupe to a convertible in just a few seconds.
European market launch is scheduled for the first quarter of 2006.
Volkswagen Group Australia’s Managing Director, Mr Peter Nochar, says the new
convertible is definitely on the radar for local introduction later in 2006.
“Announcement of the new Convertible is the latest chapter in Volkswagen’s
new model offensive,” Mr Nochar said. “This is a car that is perfect for the
Australian lifestyle.”
