12th April, 2006 Volvo Car has planned a 3rd quarter arrival of its second-generation C70 convertible in Australian showrooms. The Swedish-built C70 with three-piece folding hardtop will be offered in two specification levels - both highly equipped: $69,950 - C70 LE with 125kW 2.4-litre naturally aspirated five-cylinder
engine Both C70 variants are offered with five-speed automatic as standard, while a manual gearbox (five-speed in C70 LE, six-speed in C70 T5) will be available as a no-cost option. The all-new C70's unique features are its three-piece folding metal hardtop and generous interior space with comfortable seating for four adults. Volvo Car has improved occupant protection with a door-mounted side airbag to protect upper body and head. During a side impact, the airbag inflates vertically from its door mounted position and remains inflated for several seconds to ensure maximum protection. The C70's arrival marks an intensive model transformation for Volvo Car. The C70 convertible will be followed by the arrival of Volvo's new large S80 sedan with 4.4-litre V8 and all-wheel drive. At the other end of the model range, Volvo will launch its small C30 three-door hatch about mid-year 2007. More news:Nissan Pathfinder Ti Now With Diesel Option
