31st December, 2004 After just one month of sales on the Japanese market, the Suzuki Swift has experienced phenomenal success with a record, 5,471 units sold, during the month of November. Launched globally, at the 2004 Paris Motor Show, the dynamic Swift, has far exceeded expectations in Japan clearly meeting the sales target set of 3,000 units a month. The success of the Swift has contributed to a total market of 286,357 units sold in November, in the automotive giant's domestic market of Japan. Due for release in Australia, in February 2005, the vehicle was recently previewed at the Australian International Motor Show, where it received plenty of interest and support from Suzuki fans and the general public. Suzuki anticipates the Swift will be very well received in Australia and is looking forward to a strong year of sales in 2005. "With a competitive price tag of under $20,000, Suzuki Australia is very excited about the sales potential of the Swift. We believe we have a recipe for success with this vehicle," General Manager for Automobiles, Suzuki Australia, Mr. David Le Mottee, said. Initially available on the Australian market in a five door manual and automatic hatch, the Swift will be powered by a sports tuned 1.5 litre VVT engine. Suzuki Australia will issue further information on its newest star closer to the release date. |
