15th January, 2007 | ||||
Suzuki has continued to prove itself as an emerging player in the Australian
automotive industry as sales for 2006 set an all time record for the second
consecutive year. A total of 15,798 units were sold around the country, an increase of 14.3% in
market volume compared to last year's 13,794 units. Confirming Suzuki's sales success was a best ever result for the month of
December, the 1,411 units a 15.3% increase on the previous year. Suzuki's recent success, which translates to a 1.6% market share can be
contributed to the range of new products launched in Australia over the last 22
months, including the Grand Vitara, Swift, Swift Sport and APV. "The entire Suzuki team is thrilled with the results we have achieved and we
look forward to another record breaking year in 2007," Suzuki Australia,
Managing Director, Mr Takeshi Hayasaki said. "Thanks must go to our staff and dedicated dealer network who have all worked
extremely hard to build the Suzuki brand within the Australia marketplace." With an exciting line up of further product on the way, beginning with the
sports crossover, the SX4, in February of this year, Suzuki is on track to
achieve yet another record for 2007 paving the way to a projected goal of 40,000
units in Australia by 2010. |
