2006 Suzuki Grand Vitara |
8th September, 2005 Suzuki Motor Corporation has announced it will enter the competitive Mexican car market in October this year. The opportunity arises following the conclusion of the Economic Partnership Agreement between Mexico and Japan in April 2005. The vehicles will be imported and distributed through Suzuki Mexico which was established in February 1996 as a Motorcycle distributor. The process of appointing and training dealers has begun, as Suzuki Mexico prepares to launch the New Grand Vitara and the Suzuki Aerio Sedan (known in Australia as the Liana). To date, 5 dealerships have been confirmed and are located in major areas such as Mexico City, Monterrey and Guadalajara. A 3,000 unit sales target has been set for Suzuki Mexico’s first year of car sales.
