3rd February, 2005 Subaru achieved record January sales of 2,898 vehicles, according to official VFACTS figures release today. The figure is 15.6 per cent head of January 2004 and gives Subaru a market share of 4.2 per cent, its best since an all-time record of 4.4 per cent in January 1992. Forester sales of 1,065 were 19.9 per cent ahead of the previous January, a record for the month. Impreza sales of 724 were an impressive 32.1 per cent up. Also performing strongly was Liberty with 683 sales, 18.4 per cent above January 2004. Outback sales of 426 took Subaru's share of the SUV Compact sales segment to 23.1 per cent. Subaru Australia General Manager Nick Senior said: "It's a pleasing start to the year and with initiatives including the limited edition Impreza WRX WRP10 coming on line, we can offer customers a variety of interesting developments in the coming months." |
