4th October, 2005 The all new Saab 9-3 SportCombi will make its first appearance in Australia next week at the Australian International Motor Show. It will be available locally with two engine variants, a turbocharged four-cylinder and top of the line Aero with a new 2.8-litre turbocharged V6 engine. With the sporty look of a hatch, SportCombi is a modern expression of Saab’s design tradition which sets it apart from conventional wagons. SportCombi will appeal to people who appreciate the versatility of a wagon but who won’t compromise their desire for driving pleasure and safety. Director of Saab Australia, Ralph Stevenson, said the bold, Swedish styling would attract new customers and appeal to current Saab hatch lovers. “SportCombi smashes the wagon mould,” Mr Stevenson said. “It will meet the demands of people with an active lifestyle but still deliver a sporty, fun-to-drive experience for car lovers.” On the Saab stand in new stylish colours, Fusion Blue and Jet Black, visitors to the Motor Show will notice some of the SportCombi’s clever, stand-out design features, including:
SportCombi continues Saab’s history of safety leadership with curtain airbags, offering head protection for front and rear seat passengers, and second generation Saab Active Head Restraints. The SportCombi also shares luxury features with the other models in the Saab range including an air conditioned glove box and heated leather seats. The new SportCombi can be seen on the Saab stand in Hall One at the 2005 Australian International Motor Show from 14th to 23rd October. Some previous news:The 100,000th Audi Cabriolet
