Saab at Adelaide Motor Show
26th March, 2007 | |||
Saab is making a return to the Adelaide Motor Show after an absence of
almost a decade. A leader in alternative fuels, Saab will show its new 9-3 Turbo Diesel
vehicles in Adelaide. GM Premium Brands Director, Parveen Batish, says Saab’s dedication to
responsible performance will appeal to Australians who care about their impact
on the environment. “This year Saab has launched its new extremely economical turbo diesel
vehicles, including Australia’s first diesel convertible,” Mr Batish said. “There is a much better understanding today of the benefits of diesel, both
the improvements in fuel efficiency and the strong performance you get from the
high torque engines.” The TiD Sport Sedan and SportCombi will be on show in Adelaide, with the TiD
Convertible due to arrive at Adelaide's Metro Saab showroom in April. With official combined fuel consumption of 5.8 litres per 100 kilometres, the
9-3 TiD manual Sport Sedan sets the benchmark as the most fuel efficient premium
vehicle in Australia. Continuing the Saab tradition of providing luxury features as standard, the
TiD range offers leather upholstery, heated seats, automatic climate and cruise
control, 16 inch alloy wheels and MP3 compatibility on all models. In another important step towards environmental sustainability, Saab has
partnered with Greenfleet and will purchase a one year ‘offset’ for every new or
demonstration Saab vehicle sold. Under the agreement, Greenfleet will plant 17
native trees for each vehicle which will absorb the greenhouse gas emissions
produced by a car in one year. “The partnership with Greenfleet is another way for the Saab community to
drive with a green conscience irrespective of which vehicle they choose. “The Adelaide Motor Show is an important opportunity for Saab to build the
brand in South Australia and talk to customers,” Mr Batish said. “It is also a good chance to meet General Manager Mark McCappin and his team
from Metro Saab and find out more about our exciting new diesel range.” The Adelaide Motor Show runs from 28th March until 1st April at the Adelaide
Showground. |
