20th October, 2004 The striking Rolls-Royce 100EX Centenary Experimental motor car made its southern hemisphere debut at the Sydney's Motor Show this month. 100EX has been designed and engineered to mark the centenary of Rolls-Royce and will appear at various events around the world. Based on a lightweight aluminium space frame, 100EX is an open-top, four-seat, two-door drop-head and is the first experimental motor car to be produced by Rolls-Royce since the 1950's. It is 100 years since the first historic meeting took place between Henry Royce and the Hon. Charles Rolls which led to an agreement and formation of the world famous company. Rolls-Royce has become one of the most widely recognised and respected brands in the world, renowned for its cutting edge design and engineering. Accompanying the 100EX will be a Rolls-Royce Phantom, making its official Australian motor show debut. It will be the first time that the Phantom has appeared at a major show in Australia since it was launched to worldwide acclaim in 2003. Speaking about the Motor Show, Howard Mosher, Director Sales and Marketing of Rolls-Royce Motor Cars, said, "We are both pleased and proud to give the Australian public a chance to see the 100EX and the Phantom side-by-side. This event is an important part of our year long centenary celebrations and we are looking forward to welcoming many thousands of visitors to our stand throughout the show." Rolls-Royce Motor Cars is represented in Australia by Trivett Classic. Greg Duncan, Executive Chairman, said, "The reaction to the Phantom has been overwhelming, from both customers and the press, and we are delighted that a Phantom and 100EX will be displayed together at the motor show." |
