Melbourne-based camper trailer manufacturer Purple Line has launched a new
lightweight Opus On Road camper trailer which can be towed by Australia’s top-selling car, the Toyota Corolla, amongst
others.
The camper combines a German BPW chassis to the Opus alloy-framed composite body and unique, pram-like folding top for
an easy-towing loaded weight (ATM Rating) of 1,050 kg.
With a towball weight of just 68kg, the Opus On-Road can also be towed by last month's best selling car, the Hyundai
i30, amongst others.
Purple Line Australia director Malcolm Hill said the latest OPUS On-Road owed its German-engineered lightweight
chassis to OPUS Camper’s UK origins.
“The BPW chassis is standard in the UK and Europe, where they don’t have the big tow vehicles we have here,” he
said.
“It’s designed for cars like the Corolla, which can tow 1300kg (braked) with a 130kg towball weight.”
Opus On-Road could be perfect for people who may never have thought of towing.
And the price*? It's priced* from $19,995* in a ready to roll spec - with gas bottle, battery, awning, cooker, sink,
water tank and electric pump.
NOTE:
* Manufacturer's List Price (MLP) excludes dealer delivery fees and the numerous statutory charges (commonly known as
on-road costs). Additionally, please note that all prices, fees and charges are subject to change without notice, as are
the specifications.
