28th August, 2006 Nissan Australia has announced another safety upgrade for its rugged Patrol four-wheel drive range – the addition of standard dual airbags to the Patrol DX wagon - available from October 2006. This announcement comes hot on the heels of a similar upgrade recently confirmed for the Patrol Cab Chassis line-up and means that now every vehicle in Nissan’s passenger and commercial vehicle line-up is available with either standard or optional dual front airbags. The popular Patrol, Pathfinder, X-TRAIL, 350Z, Maxima and Tiida line-ups all boast standard dual front airbags, while the Navara utility range is available with dual airbags as standard on high specification models and as an option on all other models. According to Ross Booth, Nissan Australia’s General Manager of Marketing, the decision to add dual airbags to the Patrol DX wagon range was a logical step. “We received an overwhelmingly positive reaction to the announcement of dual airbags to the Patrol cab chassis range and it made sense to extend the offer to our Patrol DX wagon.” Mr Booth said. “And like the cab chassis, the DX wagon is popular amongst our fleet and rural customers who have signalled their appreciation of this safety upgrade.” Pricing of the revised Patrol DX wagon will start from $50,040* for the 3.0-litre turbo diesel, while the legendary 4.2-litre turbo diesel is priced at $56,680*. *Recommended retail price excludes dealer delivery and on-road costs. |
