Nissan’s all-new Pathfinder concept vehicle made its Australian debut at the Australian International Motor Show, Sydney on 7th October. Due to go on sale in the third quarter of 2005, the all-new Nissan Pathfinder offers an excellent balance of off-road capability and on-road driveability. Based on the Dunehawk concept vehicle first exhibited at the Frankfurt Motor Show in 2003, the all-new Nissan Pathfinder displays the distinctive styling of Nissan’s new-generation four-wheel drive family. The all-new Pathfinder concept boasts a large powerful front, solid shoulder line, large integrated fender flares and short front and rear overhangs. The angled strut-style grille and powerful overall profile of the vehicle reinforces Nissan’s four-wheel drive heritage. The spacious interior now provides three rows of seats, and offers comfortable seating for seven occupants and a generous luggage area. The all-new Nissan Pathfinder also offers great flexibility with the second and third rows folding flat to create a huge load area. Engines for the Australian variant have not yet been confirmed, but a performance oriented petrol engine and a highly technical diesel engine are currently under consideration. The all-new Nissan Pathfinder is equipped with independent double-wishbone suspension which gives car-like on-road dynamics. Four-wheel drive capability is assured with the addition of an advanced electronically controlled ALL MODE 4x4 transmission. Unveiling the vehicle at the Australian International Motor Show, Nissan Australia’s Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Shinya Hannya, said that the all-new Nissan Pathfinder was one of many new vehicles being launched internationally. “Nissan continues to consolidate its global resurgence and the all-new Nissan Pathfinder concept is a solid example of the attractive new vehicles being produced. The Pathfinder’s arrival in the Australian market place next year will add to Nissan’s growing line-up of attractive, affordable products,” Mr Hannya said. The all-new Nissan Pathfinder concept vehicle, along with Nissan’s stunning new Murano all-wheel drive concept and the 2005 model year Patrol will be on display at the Australian International Motor Show at Darling Harbour in Sydney from 7th to 17th October. |
