Mitsubishi's Concept-Sportback for Melbourne
21st February, 2007 | ||||
Mitsubishi Motors Australia Limited (MMAL) announced yesterday that the
company's Concept-Sportback from 2005 will be displayed at the Melbourne Motor
Show from Friday 2nd March 2007. The Concept-Sportback was designed by Mitsubishi Design Europe's Exterior
Chief Designer Omer Halilhodzic and his team, based in Germany. The vehicle was a
DNA exercise for Mitsubishi Motors Corporation (MMC) bridging heritage and
vision, Japanese roots with global customer-base requirements, sporting spirit
and clever practical solutions. The Concept-Sportback combines the best of both worlds - stylish European
design overlaid with Mitsubishi's sporting credentials. Its expressive design
ensures it stands out from the mainstream hatchback crowd and its dynamic
performance is backed by Mitsubishi's experience of over forty years of
competitive racing and rallying at the highest levels.
MMAL President and CEO, Robert McEniry, announced the vehicle's Australian
debut. "The Concept-Sportback's aggressive good looks are an indication of the
direction of Mitsubishi design," said Mr McEniry. "And with its long wheelbase
and wide track, it is clear that the design emphasis of the Concept Sportback is
on performance and flexibility." The Mitsubishi Concept Sportback will be on display on the Mitsubishi Stand
at the Melbourne International Motor Show - along with the full line-up of
Mitsubishi and Ralliart vehicles. The Melbourne Motor Show runs from 5 PM Friday 2nd March to Monday 12th March,
2007. |
