Mitsubishi's Outstanding First Quarter Sales
13th April, 2007 | |||||||||||||||
Mitsubishi Motors Australia Limited (MMAL) has reported outstanding first
quarter results in Australia, with a total of 12,997 vehicles sold as at the
31st March, 2007. This represents a solid rise of 21.7% over the same period
last year. Reporting the sales success, MMAL's President and CEO, Robert McEniry,
commented that the company was on track with its management plan and on target
for growth during 2007. "The focus at Mitsubishi over the past eighteen months has been centred on
consolidating our sales performance and building for future growth, and I am
pleased to report our market share has risen from 5.5% last year to 6.2% during
March 2007," Mr McEniry said. March was a stellar month for the company, with across-the-board increases in
sales of 22.2% During the month, many Mitsubishi products claimed their best ever sales
results for the March period, including Lancer (both sedan and wagon), Triton
4x4, Triton 4x2 V6, Pajero and Colt. And MMAL's year to date figures are just as impressive. In fact, every
vehicle in Mitsubishi's product range recorded strong increases during the first
quarter, as follows: • 380 sedan • Colt • Express • Grandis • Lancer • Outlander • Pajero • Triton 4x4 The sole exception is the 2.4-litre ML Triton, which was absent from the line-up until its arrival in March 2007. "The Australian automotive market is maintaining solid growth at the moment, and I am pleased to report that Mitsubishi's performance surpasses the market average. Our 21.7% increase year-to-date is two-and-a-half times the current market increase of 8.7% for the same period." Mr McEniry said. "And we look forward to further growth in 2007. With the continued support of our dealers and staff, and the exciting new products we will release throughout the year - including the all-new Lancer - we are confident we can continue the "Mitsubishi Revolution." |
