Mini Footpath
| ||||
Mini introduces a special edition Cabrio model at the 2007 Detroit Motor
Show (North American International Auto Show). Thanks to Mini, convertible lovers will be able to catch the rays from the
Sidewalk anytime they please, even while driving. The new Mini Cabrio Sidewalk is a characterful addition to the range, with an
even more sophisticated ambience than ever. It will appear in Australia soon,
presumably with the name Mini Footpath!. It features a bundle of additional options as well as a distinctive paint
scheme and new Night Spoke light alloy wheels to further enhance the already
eye-catching looks of the four-seater convertible. Inside, the new Mini Cabrio model boasts special leather trim. The fluted
leather seat covers are finished in a new Malt Brown colour, with silver piped
highlights. Malt Brown leather also covers the armrests and the lower insert on the
two-tone multi-function steering wheel as well as the gear shifter. The interior
also boasts a high gloss finish to the dash, door trims and speaker surrounds
while the Mini Lights Package and Chrome Line Interior complete the picture. The new model is available in both naturally aspirated 85 kW Mini Cooper and
supercharged 125 kW Mini Cooper S guises. Both models are available with manual
or automatic transmissions; (CVT on the Mini Cooper). As with all Mini Cabrio models, the folding roof slips back in 15
seconds and the sunroof section above the front passengers can be opened 400 mm
at speeds of up to 110 km/h (where legal). In line with Mini’s desire to allow customers to build exactly the Mini they
want, the new Cabrio model is available in four colours other than the signature
White Silver Metallic: Pepper White Non-Metallic, Sparkling Silver Metallic,
British Racing Green Metallic and Astro Black Metallic. Door mirror caps are finished in body colour and a discreet character badge
is placed next to the side indicator repeaters. At each corner this special edition model is fitted with 17-inch light-alloy
rims in twin-tone silver and anthracite in the newly released Night Spoke
design. The new model will be arriving in Australia late in the second quarter of
2007. Pricing and local specification will be announced closer to launch. |
