The Mercedes-Benz of Mini-Buses: the Sprinter Transfer

22nd May, 2007

Mercedes-Benz Sprinter Transfer

  • New 12-seat premium mini-bus joins the award-winning Sprinter van range
  • Class-leading cargo capacity and warranty feature with extensive standard equipment list

Since its debut last October the Mercedes-Benz Sprinter range has delivered a new set of standards in the Australian van segment. The Sprinter cleverly combines payload and volume capacity needed by van customers in a class-leading package that offers all of the safety and comfort for which the three-pointed star is famous.

And now this award-winning van range is soon to have a new model join its impressive ranks: the Sprinter Transfer bus.

Later this year, Mercedes-Benz will usher a new standard into Australia’s light commercial vehicle sector with the local release of the Sprinter Transfer. This new model offers not only Mercedes-Benz comfort for up to 12 people and their luggage but will be the only bus with full automatic transmission in its segment.

The 315 mid-wheelbase (MWB) Sprinter Transfer has an upgraded GVM of 3,880 kg to ensure a full complement of luggage can be carried whilst up to 12 adults are driven in comfort.

The Sprinter Transfer boasts an extensive list of standard equipment, including a 5-speed full-automatic transmission, rear air-conditioning, dual airbags and a 3-year specialist roadcare package for customers.

Factory-fitted optional equipment includes high roofing level, long-range fuel tank, cruise control with speed limiter and bi-xenon headlamps, to name only a few.

Produced in the Mercedes-Benz mini bus factory in Dortmund, Germany, the Sprinter Transfer comes with the same industry-leading 3-year/200,000 km new vehicle warranty support first announced last year for the new Sprinter and Vito van ranges.

“Since the all-new Sprinter range arrived in Australia late last year we have enjoyed such a strong customer response and the addition of the Sprinter Transfer will further cement the Sprinter’s place amongst Australia buyers”, said Ken Matthews, managing director for commercial vehicles at DaimlerChrysler Australia/Pacific.

The 110 kW/330 Nm Sprinter Transfer is expected to provide a much-needed premium mini bus solution to industries such as tourism, hospitals, government bodies and rental car companies, all without the need for local seating or window modifications to meet their needs.

“From its class-leading rear luggage capacity and full-automatic transmission through to its 30,000 km service intervals the new Sprinter Transfer is a premium offering that provides a convenient off-the-shelf solution to suit so many customers,” concluded Matthews.

Available this coming October, orders are now being taken for the Sprinter Transfer.

Recommended Retail Pricing is from $74,990 (excludes dealer delivery and statutory charges).
