2005 Mercedes-Benz S-Class |
4th July, 2005 Mercedes-Benz hit a twenty month sales high in June, recording its best monthly result in Australia since October 2003. General Manager National Sales, Clyde Campbell, believes the strong sales result is a good indicator of the healthy nature of the country’s economy. “Whilst some people are predicting tough economic times ahead, our June retail sales results, the highest in 20 months, would indicate there is still a lot of consumer confidence in the state of the Australian economy,” said Mr Campbell. The importer delivered 1,242 passenger vehicles in June, the highest since October 2003. Mercedes-Benz last week announced significant additional investments in Australia including the acquisition of a new $20 million dollar 17,000 sqm site in Sydney for a new state-of-the-art dealership and the development of two new Airport Express showrooms and service facilities at Melbourne and Sydney airports. These announcements are in addition to a new multi-million dollar dealership the company is building in Melbourne which is due to open early in 2006.
