Mercedes-Benz Australia/Pacific has announced pricing* and specification
for the all-new Mercedes-Benz C-Class (model designation W 205) which will be available from dealerships on 23rd August.
A clear design, a sporty interior with high-class appeal and a generous sense of space, the lightest body shell in the
segment, economical and lively engines, efficiency benchmarks, extensive safety features, a new agile and comfortable
suspension as well as a host of other innovations provide the impression of an upgrade to a higher class of vehicle.
Horst von Sanden, CEO Mercedes-Benz Australia/Pacific and Managing Director of Mercedes-Benz Cars said: "The
outgoing C-Class was and is the number one selling luxury car in Australia and we’re confident the all-new C-Class will
continue on the same path when it launches in August.”
The sedan will initially be launched with five variants into the Australian market boasting a significant equipment
enhancement tailored directly to 'core' customer’s desire.
The C 200 (petrol) is not only the most popular C-Class model, but the most popular model of the entire Mercedes-Benz
range. The new model in Australia receives enhancements of not only equipment, but performance. LED headlamps, 18” alloy
wheels, Collision Prevention Assist PLUS, electric seats and blind spot assist are matched to a 0-100km/h time that
rivals the outgoing C 250. Its diesel sibling, the C 200 BlueTEC (diesel), is set to become one of the most fuel
efficient vehicles in the Mercedes-Benz portfolio.
Other standard features for both the C 200 and C 200 BlueTEC include, Garmin MAP PILOT Satellite Navigation, ambient
interior lighting throughout the cabin (3 different colour modes), DAB+ digital radio, power operated park brake,
keyless start function, Active Parking Assist and Agility Select with five driving modes just to name a few.
Not to be outdone, both the C 250 (petrol) and C 250 BlueTEC (diesel) not only increase standard equipment levels over
the outgoing C-Class, but introduce technology yet to be seen in this segment of the market. The new C 250 variants will
arrive with the full Driver Assistance Package PLUS package most recently seen in the latest S-Class, including Steer
Assist. Other standard features include KEYLESS-GO with hands-free access, leather upholstery and 19” alloy wheels are
all part of the outstanding value equation.

The fuel economy leader of the range will no doubt be the C 300 BlueTEC HYBRID, combined fuel efficiency rating
estimated to be as low as 3.6L/100kms and with equipment equal to the C 250 models. The C 300 BlueTEC HYBRID will be
priced at $74,900*.
New dimensions
The new C-Class offers new dimensions with regard to technology, ecology, comfort, appeal and fun at the wheel – and
equally regarding the sense of space. The C-Class has grown to take account of people's increasing average height. With
an 80-millimetre increase in the wheelbase (2,840 millimetres) compared with the previous model, the vehicle is 95
millimetres longer (4,686 millimetres) and 40 millimetres wider (1,810 millimetres). The resulting increase in space
benefits the rear-seat passengers, who now travel in even more comfort, and provides room for the new front axle and
future hybrid components. At 480 litres the new C-Class also surpasses its predecessor in terms of boot capacity (in
accordance with ISO 3832).

The new Mercedes-Benz C-Class sets visual highlights with a striking, vibrant design that exudes sensuous clarity
while arousing emotions at the same time. The interior spaciously and stylishly showcases straightforward sportiness and
aesthetic elegance with high-quality materials and finely crafted details worthy of the luxury class with surprising new
design ideas.
With regard to technical features the new C-Class surpasses its successful predecessor in many areas and sets a
multitude of new benchmarks in its segment. With aluminium content of 48 per cent and up to 40 kilogrammes lighter the
Sedan is the lightweight-design leader in its segment.
Efficient and lively engines
Powerful and efficient petrol and diesel engines, all equipped with the ECO start/stop function and complying with
Euro 6 emissions standards, provide for lively performance and great fun at the wheel. They are also a factor in cutting
fuel consumption by up to 20 per cent compared with the preceding model.
In addition, Mercedes-Benz offers a diesel engine combined with a hybrid module. The C 300 BlueTEC HYBRID with
four-cylinder diesel engine and compact electric motor generates an output of 150 + 20 kW and despite its high power
output, has a fuel consumption rating under 4.0 litres of diesel per 100 km/h (combined driving).
