Over 130 of the country’s most passionate Mazda MX-5 owners and their cars will gather this week-end in McLaren Vale, South Australia, to celebrate 20 years of the popular two-seat roadster and its dedicated motoring clubs.

McLaren Vale and the Fleurieu Peninsula will be alive with colour as MX-5 club members from around Australia gather for their ninth national meeting in celebration of the Mazda MX-5, now in its 21st year of production.

The four-day event programme from/to 2nd-6th April features a range of social activities including a fund-raising auction and convoy drives to Middleton-Goolwa and southern beaches.

About the Mazda MX-5

On 9th February 9, 1989, Mazda Motor Corporation revealed a sporty little roadster at the Chicago Motor Show in America. Late that month, an MX-5 roadster made its Australian debut at the Melbourne Motor Show.

Today, the Mazda MX-5’s popularity is unchallenged – more than 860,000 MX-5s have been sold around the world – and to this day it remains the only two-seat roadster to combine the traditional front-engine, rear-drive layout at an affordable price.
