About the Mazda MX-5
On 9th February 9, 1989, Mazda Motor Corporation revealed a sporty little roadster at the Chicago
Motor Show in America. Late that month, an MX-5 roadster made its Australian debut at the Melbourne
Motor Show.
Today, the Mazda MX-5’s popularity is unchallenged – more than 860,000 MX-5s have been sold around
the world – and to this day it remains the only two-seat roadster to combine the traditional front-engine,
rear-drive layout at an affordable price.
