The wait is over. For the first time since July Mazda Australia will this month receive a good supply of the Mazda 3 sedan and hatch range.

Run-away global sales and an unusually active typhoon season in Japan caused serious supply restrictions in Australia, reducing Mazda 3 sales to an average of just 1,213 cars in August and September.

A slight supply improvement last month lifted Mazda 3 retails to 1888.

When enjoying better supply Mazda sold an average of almost 2,100 Mazda 3s between February and July.

Mazda Australia expects sales to return to these levels with it taking delivery of 2,200 Mazda 3s this month and a further 2,100 in December.

The managing director of Mazda Australia, Doug Dickson, said: “Strong global demand and unscheduled interruptions at the factory caused by the typhoons have been a double whammy for our sales.

“However, from this month we again benefit from good supply of the Mazda 3.
