Hottest September on Record for Mazda

3rd October, 2006

2006 Mazda 3 sedan

Mazda Australia has achieved its best ever September result recording 5,764 sales.

On the back of increased supply, newly released models and upgrades as well as the company's annual nation-wide sale, M-Day, Mazda Australia continues to boom.

Mazda 3 led the charge obtaining the best result since its introduction in 2003 with 3,327 retail sales. The newly released facelift model, featuring Dynamic Stability Control as an option across the range as well as helpful additions such as cruise control, iPod capability and ABS as standard on the Neo have proven popular with consumers.

Increased supply and a new marketing campaign, focusing on Mazda 3s exceptional styling, have helped to deliver this outstanding result.

2006 Mazda MX-5 hardtop coupe

Mazda's B-Series achieved 717 sales, its best result ever for September.

Mazda 2 also had a good month with 429 sales, while the Mazda 6, recorded 883 sales. The performance range continued to dominate with MX-5 recording 117 sales and RX-8 achieving 74 retail sales.

"We are thrilled with this result," Mazda Australia's national sales manager, Mr David Hughes said.

"This reflects our predictions earlier this year, that our second half would be a bumper result. With increased supply, new product and an invigorated marketing campaign we are reaping the rewards."
