The Maserati Ghibli boasts a new range of engines for 2016 that meet the Euro6 emission standards and reduce fuel consumption by a small amount, as well as new safety and luxury features fitted as standard.

In addition to the new range of engines for the Ghibli, new safety features include Blind Spot Monitoring, Cross Path Warning and Auto Dipping Door Mirrors. Ease of use and convenience is enhanced with a power operated boot that may be operated remotely or at the wave of a foot, while the addition of the Siri Personal Assistant enables a new range of services and features to be operated by voice command through MTC telematics system.

Luxury is heightened with the new optional Harmon Kardon premium sound system, which boasts 10 speakers powered by a 900 watt 12 channel amplifier. Harmon Kardon has been dedicated to producing high fidelity audio equipment for more than 60 years, producing some of the very first high fidelity audio equipment and has produced a long list of audio milestones.

The Maserati Ghibli offers a high level of personalisation. For 2016 this is further broadened with a choice of optional stitched Trident Logos on the head restraints, a new Piano Black interior trim and a new range of wheel designs.

The 2016 rear-wheel drive Maserati Ghibli will continue to offer three engine choices. Both versions of the petrol range, Ghibli and Ghibli S, feature a EURO 6 compliant 3.0-litre V6 Twin Turbo engine, with a reduction in emissions and consumption yet with unchanged performance compared to EURO 5 engines and an 8-speed ZF automatic transmission, fitted for the first time with a Start & Stop function.

With its power output of 410 hp the Ghibli S can manage 0 to 100 km/h in 5.0 seconds. The Ghibli delivers 330 hp and acceleration of 0 to 100 km/h in 5.6 seconds.

The Ghibli Turbo Diesel with its EURO 6 compliant 3.0-litre V6 engine has been exclusively developed for Maserati by VM Motori and this engine produces a power output of 275 hp enabling it to undertake 0 to 100 km/h in 6.3 seconds. The combined fuel consumption rating for the Ghibli S is 9.6 l/100 km, while for the Ghibli the combined fuel rating is 8.9 l/100 km. Turbo Diesel engine has the combined rating dip to 5.9 l/100 km.

The outline of the body reflects a coupe-like philosophy for the four-door saloon, while there are strong feline hints around the Ghibli’s grille and headlights. The grille takes its inspiration from the current Maserati sports car, the GranTurismo, and it can draw a line back to the classic 1950s A6 GCS.

The Ghibli maintains Maserati’s distinctive C-pillar treatment, which delivers much of the coupe-like stance and carries the classical Saetta Maserati logo, carrying on a tradition dating back to 1963.

The side profile is dominated by a swage line that runs from the traditional Maserati grille vents behind the front wheels and finishes in the rear lights themselves.

Inside, the Ghibli has a unique interior that reflects its core values, with a unique dashboard design and cockpit for the driver that matches its sportier and more youthful character without losing any of the luxury or spaciousness expected from Maserati.

The Ghibli, Ghibli Diesel and Ghibli S utilise an eight-speed automatic transmission to deliver their performance, providing seamless comfort with fast gear shifting for hard acceleration.

All Ghibli models deliver tidy handling qualities thanks to their perfectly balanced weight distribution, a double-wishbone front suspension and a state-of-the-art five-link rear suspension.
