Mahindra Readies For Mid-Year Launch
22nd March, 2007 | ||||
TMI Pacific continues to prepare for the launch of a new-to-Australia
utility vehicle; the Pik-Up from Mahindra in June 2007. Michael Tynan, Chairman of TMI Pacific said, “We were delighted by the solid
interest and positive feedback expressed by potential dealers from across the
country at our February Dealer Open Day." “Our extensive countryside road tests, where the vehicle had to endure the
toughest of elements, have demonstrated that the Mahindra brand produces the
best all round vehicles in the utility market and dealers surveyed on the day
couldn’t have agreed more with our findings.” Earlier this year, road tests were conducted by 20 rural property holders in
Central West NSW over a two month period. The farmers were instructed to use the
Mahindra Pik-Up as they would any other farm vehicle and the results were
satisfying for the newly formed importer. Given the drought impacted terrain, the overall consensus was that the
Mahindra Pik-Up presented a multi-purpose vehicle that performed the job for
which it it was manufactured. It was found to be comfortable and easy
to drive both on and off the road. It was found to have excellent power and fuel
economy, good speed and forward visibility, a tight turning circle, with the car
often described as versatile, reliable and hardy. The vehicle is likely to appeal to rural drivers, but due to its large tray
and sporty look and feel, it will also be a very attractive option for
trades people and sports people wanting to transport their equipment easily. The
spacious dual cab can also serve as a family car. “We have no doubt that the dealers chosen to carry the product will generate
strong sales as Australians begin experiencing the benefits of the Pik-Up from
Mahindra first hand,” says Tynan. The Mahindra Pikup is manufactured in India. |
