Lexus Australia has confirmed the introduction of the RC 350 coupe and the
'fire-breathing' RC F performance coupe for Australia.
Due for launch in late 2014 or early 2015, the RC and RC F have been purpose-built to deliver outstanding design
paired with enjoyable driving dynamics.
The RC 350 will feature an all-alloy direct and port-injected 3.5-litre V6 developing 234kW of power and 380Nm of
torque.
Matched to an eight-speed sequential transmission, the RC 350 will put power to the ground via the rear wheels.
The RC F will feature a new naturally aspirated five-litre V8 developing in excess of 330kW and 520Nm of torque -
which can also switch between Atkinson and Otto cycles for greater fuel economy.
Power is managed by a specifically tuned eight-speed Sports Direct Shift (SPDS) transmission that improves linear
response to accelerator-pedal operation, letting the driver better feel the torque and power as it is applied.
Uniquely, the RC F features a host of engineering and design elements to ensure it is worthy of the "F" monicker
- now recognised as the pinnacle of Lexus performance.
Chassis, suspension, aerodynamic measures, wheel and tyre package along with a host of other engineering changes
underpin RC F's race-bred development.

The high rigidity body has larger cross-section rocker panels and a highly rigid front lower brace, as well as
using specialised Lexus manufacturing techniques, including body adhesives, laser-screw welding and multi-spot
welding.
Lexus Australia chief executive Sean Hanley said that the introduction of RC and RC F marks a significant milestone in
the luxury marque's history.
"RC and RC F arrive at a time when Lexus is preparing to celebrate a quarter of a century in Australia," Mr
Hanley said.
"These two new vehicles epitomise Lexus' renewed focus on driving dynamics and design - while signalling a bolder,
stronger, more confident Lexus."
"We are certain that these two vehicles will appeal to Australian consumers, delivering that ideal mix of
attractive looks and compelling performance," he said.
