One of Japan's largest custom car show recently revealed
the sporting side of Lexus with two tuned and modified IS Fs* on display at the Tokyo Auto Salon.
Headlining the duo was the ultra-high performance IS F: the CCS-R (Circuit Club Sport Racer). Also
shown was the Club Performance Accessory model.
The CCS-R is true to the tradition of lightweight track cars. It features carbon fibre body panels,
including front bumper and rear wing, bonnet and boot lid, plus a new frameless construction roll cage
and polycarbonate windows. Inside there's further extensive use of carbon fibre for the dashboard,
centre console and door trims. Racing details extend to a six-point safety harness and small-diameter
steering wheel with paddle shifts. The car is performance-engineered, too, with racing suspension,
bigger brakes, cooling and exhaust, plus an updated mechanical limited-slip differential and forged
alloys shod with slick tyres.
Lexus, via TRD, also made the IS F Club Performance Accessory model, giving the most powerful member
of the IS line-up an even bolder appearance with spoilers fore and aft, a rear diffuser, carbon fibre
bonnet and sports seats finished in bright orange. Aggressively-tuned sports suspension and brakes, a
titanium exhaust, magnesium wheels and an updated mechanical LSD complete the package.
