has an unusual first delivery |
3rd November, 2004 Land Rover devotee, Tommy Rogers, knew he was in for something special when he was among the first to place his order for a new Discovery 3 earlier this year, but nothing could have prepared him for the arrival of the new vehicle, which was brought to him by an RAF Puma helicopter. Tommy's local Land Rover dealership, Charles Hurst in Belfast, arranged this unique delivery with the 230 'Tiger' Squadron at RAF Aldergrove in Northern Ireland. RAF flight lieutenant Andy Cornes, said: "The people at Lookers plc, which owns the Charles Hurst dealership in Belfast, approached us with this idea, and we were more than happy to support local business and the community with an exciting event like this." Tommy Rogers, who is the managing director of TR Shipping in Northern Ireland, said: "This is a very fitting way for the new vehicle to arrive in the province, with the world's best pilots using some of the world's best equipment to deliver the latest example of Britain's best – the new Discovery 3." The cost of this initiative to the RAF have been covered by Charles Hurst Land Rover. A donation to the RAF's chosen charity will also be made, to express the dealer's appreciation. |
