Jeep's Weekend Event! |
2004 Jeep Cherokee |
20th May, 2004 Jeep Mania Heads to Queensland
Freedom and capability to go anywhere have always been hallmarks of the Jeep brand. This weekend, over 140 Jeeps and 400 people will take advantage of these traits when they journey to Double Island Point in Queensland to put their Jeeps and four wheel driving skills to the test. The deep blue water of the Pacific Ocean and pristine white sands of Double Island Point, which is two hours North of Brisbane, will provide the backdrop for the action packed Jeep Beach Trip. Owners will participate in 4X4 clinics, activities and drives throughout the weekend. Camping at the renowned Fresh Water Campsite, they will enjoy a barbeque dinner and live entertainment on Saturday night. The family event for Jeep owners, arranged by Leo Muller Chrysler Jeep (Holland Park) and Albion Chrysler Jeep (Albion), is sponsored by Chrysler Jeep Australia, and will see one of the biggest gatherings of Jeeps in the Southern Hemisphere. There will be many models of Jeeps in attendance ranging from early models through to the latest Grand Cherokee CRD. Experience ranges from beginner to advanced with activities catering for all skill levels. "Over the last 60 years, Jeep has built a reputation for delivering rugged, versatile vehicles with real four-wheel-drive power. While most owners experience Jeep’s on-road refinement in their day to day lives, the Beach Trips provide the perfect setting for owners to experience and test Jeep’s Legendary 4x4 capability in a unique and scenic environment," said Brad Fitzsimmons, National Sales Manager, Chrysler Jeep Australia. “Owners can learn more about the amazing capabilities of a Jeep, meet great people and have fun with their families. Most of all, they experience personally, in every aspect, why the Jeep brand way of life has become legendary.” The number of Jeep enthusiasts participating is testament to the brands broad appeal and stand-out offerings. Jeeps year to date April sales are up 30% compared to the same time last year. With the iconic Wrangler sales remaining strong and the capable Cherokee and flagship Grand Cherokee proving as popular as ever, the company is in a strong position and poised to enjoy continued growth. |
