Hyundai release the i45   23rd May, 2010

11th May, 2011

Following the success of its i45 mid-size sedan, Hyundai Motor Company Australia is introducing a new engine to the range. The i45 2.0-litre engine is available in ‘Active’ model and becomes the new i45 range entry point, offering impressive levels of style plus 5-star ANCAP rated safety.

After a strong sales month in April which saw the i45 finishing third in the mid-size segment with sales of 405 units, the introduction of the 2.0-litre petrol engine expands the entry level Active model variants and is expected to grow sales further, offering buyers a high value option whilst still possessing a comprehensive list of standard equipment and safety features.

The i45’s 2.0-litre four-cylinder engine delivers a maximum power output of 121 kW @ 6,200 rpm and a peak torque of 198 Nm @ 4,600 rpm, matched with either 6-speed manual or 6-speed automatic transmissions (the 2.4-litre i45 Active direct injection manual transmission is simultaneously deleted from the range).

With a combined fuel consumption of 7.6 L/100 kms for the automatic transmission, the 2.0 litre i45 Active becomes the most fuel efficient naturally aspirated petrol engine sedan in the medium segment.

Assertive and sleek, the Hyundai i45 reflects a sophisticated approach to mid-sized sedan design by combining advanced powertrain technology with practical and stylish features to provide an exceptional ownership experience, now offering even more choice to customers.

Outstanding occupant protection is a core element of the i45’s design. All i45 models achieve a maximum 5-star ANCAP safety rating and come standard with a comprehensive suite of advanced safety features standard on all models including six airbags, Electronic Stability Control (ESC) with Traction Control System (TCS), four-channel, four-sensor Anti-skid Braking System (ABS), Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD), Brake Assist System (BAS) and Hillstart Assist Control (HAC).

For peace of mind, Hyundai offers customers an outstanding Five Year/Unlimited Kilometre warranty.
