Honda Motor Co has issued a safety recall for Odyssey, CR-V and Step Wagon models manufactured between October 1994 and May 1997.

Affected models in Australia include certain 1995 and 1996 Odyssey models.

The safety recall is to remedy the possibility of the ignition switch failing and causing the engine to stall. No cases of ignition switch failure have been reported in Australia.

The remedy involves the replacement of the ignition switch at no cost to the customer.

A total of 1,424 vehicles are involved in this recall within Australia.

All affected customers will be contacted by mail and advised of the vehicle safety recall in accordance with the Federal Chamber of Automotive Industries Code of Practice.
