Honda Australia’s record-breaking run in 2005
continues with the company setting its best-ever August sales result of 4,006
units.
According to official VFACTS figures, Honda Australia’s market share stands
just shy of five per cent year-to-date at 4.9 per cent.
Take trucks out of the equation and Honda’s year-to-date market share looks
even rosier – 6.3 per cent in the passenger segment and 5.5 per cent in SUV.
Leading the charge in August was the Accord Euro sedan with 931, closely followed by
Honda’s Thai-built models – the Accord and Civic sedan – accounting for 548 and
722 units each.
“It’s been yet another strong month for Honda,” said Honda Australia Senior
Director Lindsay Smalley. “The recent free trade agreement with Thailand means
the incredible value and refinement of an Accord now costs only $29,990.”
