5th May, 2004 GM's Antwerp plant, in Belgium, will produce a fourth Astra variant (following the Astra 3-door, 5-door and station wagon) from 2006. The new model will be a four-seat cabriolet-coupe with electro-hydraulic retractable roof. While General Motors has been very satisfied with the vehicles currently produced by Bertone, the decision was made to build this new vehicle inhouse in order to utilise it's own capacity more appropriately. The Bertone built Astra convertible will be replaced in 2006. |
