Holden Cavalcade Hits Regional NSW and Victoria
6th November, 2007 | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
An extensive collection of GM Holden vehicles will tour regional Victoria and New South Wales throughout November as part of Holden’s Road Show. Holden’s travelling road show will visit eleven rural dealers from Shepparton to Seymour to showcase a range of newly released vehicles. The Road Show will include the VE Commodore, the luxurious WM Caprice, Holden’s all-wheel-drive Captiva, the powerful Rodeo turbo diesel and Holden’s mid-size sedan, Epica. VE Commodore will join the Road Show representing the largest single automotive programme in Australia’s history. A strong focus was placed on active and passive safety in the vehicle’s design with features such as Electronic Stability Programme (ESP®) now standard on all models. On the luxury front, the top-of-the-range WM Caprice will be making the journey and delivering benchmark levels of build quality, ride refinement, safety and spacious comfort for locally built sedans. It also offers more differentiation from its short wheelbase 'siblings' than ever before. The Captiva, GM Holden’s imported SUV offers customers a choice of five and seven seats to deliver a flexible and highly specified range that is proving an appealing choice in the medium and compact-sized SUV market. Extensively tested in Australia, the Captivas included in this Road Show boast a new responsive and economical 2.0-litre common rail turbo diesel engine, compliant with Euro IV emission standards. Available with a five-speed manual or five-speed automatic transmission with Active Select, depending on model, Captiva Diesel is very fuel efficient, with the manual variant returning 7.6 litres per 100 kms and the automatic 8.6 litres per 100 kms (ADR81/01). All models, petrol or diesel, feature the intelligent active all-wheel drive system and this contributes to Captiva’s versatile appeal. It is fully integrated into the ESP® and ABS systems, improving vehicle control and active safety. The powerful turbo diesel Rodeo also joins the Holden cavalcade and features several design enhancements, increased braked towing capability and a new five-speed manual or four-speed automatic transmission to manage the increased torque and retain a light shift feel. This automotive workhorse also boasts improved driver and passenger seating, new steering wheel, HVAC controls and interior trims, updated instrument clusters and interior side vents, plus redesigned transmission levers, making Rodeo an outstanding range representing great value for money. The 3.0-litre VCDi common rail engine delivers 25 per cent more peak power while meeting Euro IV emission requirements. And last but not least, GM Holden’s mid-size sedan, Epica, will also be on show with its generous interior space, excellent standard specifications and stylish fit and finish. Epica is available in two variants (CDX and CDXi) with a choice of either a 2.0 or 2.5-litre in-line six cylinder engine, depending on model. Each delivers a refined and smooth ride and returns better fuel economy than some of the four-cylinder rivals in the mid-size sedan segment. Epica’s impressive fuel economy (ADR081/01) is 8.2 litres/100km for the 2.0-litre manual variant and 9.3 litres/100km for the 2.5-litre automatic. The Road Show will tour Holden dealerships and all cars will be registered and ready for test drives by interested local customers. HOLDEN ROAD SHOW LOCATIONS AND DATES
