FPV F6 Wins NZ Car of the Year
9th December, 2008
Ford Performance Vehicles (FPV) has dominated the 2008 New Zealand Autocar Car of the Year Awards.
FPV’s new F6 ran away a clear winner in the Performance Car of the Year category, as well as the headline Car of the Year award.
In the Car of the Year category, the FPV F6 won by a record margin, beating all other entrants by 20 points.
“For the F6 to take out both categories is just incredible!” FPV’s General Manager Rod Barrett said.
“This further illustrates the F6 is the ultimate driver’s car - a fantastic combination of performance and dynamics. It’s a
testament to the team here in Campbellfield (Australia) that worked so hard on this project,” he added.
Editor of New Zealand Autocar Paul Owen validated Barrett’s sentiments;
“The F6 was the most memorable drive of 2008,” he said.
"During the testing every single judge got out of the F6 with a huge grin on their face. It won hands down."
“You've made a car that will continue to define bang for buck for many years to come,” Owen added.
The F6 is powered by the high performance 4.0 litre turbo-charged DOHC 24 valve in-line six, producing maximum power of 310 kW at
5,500 rpm and maximum torque of 565 Nm across the range from 1,950 to 5,200 rpm.
