Ford Announces Pricing for All-New FG Falcon
28th March, 2008 | ||||
Ford Australia yesterday announced the recommended retail pricing for the all-new FG Falcon range, including both sedan and utility models, along with the new BF Falcon Wagon Mk III. On sale in May, the all-new FG Falcon represents one of the most exceptional large car packages ever released in Australia, offering outstanding performance, refinement and safety, which has now been combined with a customer-focused pricing structure to deliver real value to new car buyers. "The all-new FG Falcon range delivers sensational value to customers seeking a truly world-class large car to meet their needs and match their lifestyle," Ford Australia President Bill Osborne said. "With the entry-level XT increasing in price by just $500 compared to its predecessor and the exciting new G6E Turbo setting a new sports luxury benchmark for less than $55,000, customers are sure to appreciate the world-class quality and value offered by the latest Falcon range." "Today's pricing announcement is sure to add to the level of interest shown by customers and those people who are already part of the Ford family, especially once they see just how competitive the new model is and all that it has to offer large car buyers." The all-new FG Falcon range introduces a new model line-up and nomenclature, incorporating the new sports luxury G Series sedan range, along with three distinct exterior front end treatments and a significant realignment of models and specifications. Recommended retail pricing (RRP) for the FG Falcon sedan range starts at $36,490 for the XT and $39,990 for both the entry-level G Series and XR models, and extends up to $54,990 for the new sports luxury model, the G6E Turbo. In addition to the realignment of models and specifications, the range of stand alone options has been rationalised to offer customers a more concise options list with sharp, competitive pricing, while still enabling plenty of scope for personalising their vehicle. The FG Falcon range also sees the introduction of a number of new option packs, which combine specific key items to make them easily accessible and provide even better value to customers. The Technology Pack, which is available on XT, G6 and across the XR range, combines Bluetooth mobile phone integration with iPod Integration for a recommended retail price of $450 – a comparable price to the stand alone Bluetooth systems offered by competitors, but which in turn are not available with full iPod integration and audio system functionality. The Safety Pack ties together side curtain airbags, power adjustable pedals (automatic transmission models only) and a perimeter alarm on the same selected models, for a recommended retail price of $600. Side curtain airbags are also available as a stand alone option for just $300. The XR Luxury Pack combines a host of key features that enables XR customers to specify their vehicle to a greater luxury level – the pack includes leather seat trim, dual zone climate control, Premium audio system, sports steering wheel and interior finishes, and 19-inch alloy wheels. On the XR6 the XR Luxury Pack is available with an RRP of $5,400 (a "+2" wheel size increase from the standard 17-inch alloy wheels), while on the XR6 Turbo and XR8 models the RRP is $5,000. FG Falcon Ute Recommended retail pricing for the all-new FG Falcon Ute range has also been announced, including the all-new R6 sports model, which has close links to the overt sports XR line-up. The new FG Falcon Ute range will officially go on sale shortly after the mainstream sedan range, offering no compromise performance and functionality, with the ideal mix of 'workhorse' capability and car-like comfort, driveability and safety. The FG Falcon Ute line-up offers an extensive range of model, bodystyle, engine and transmission configurations to perfectly match a wide variety of customer requirements. "Competitively priced against both locally-produced car-derived utes and imported light trucks, the all-new FG Falcon Ute delivers genuine value to business owners and private buyers alike," Mr Osborne said. "The new Falcon Ute line-up presents a compelling performance, safety and value package that is sure to prove popular across all sectors of the marketplace." Recommended retail pricing for the entry-level Falcon Ute Styleside Box model has increased by just $320 compared to its predecessor, while the sports performance XR6 Turbo and XR8 models are better value than ever before with a starting price of $38,490. The price differential between Styleside Box and Cab Chassis variants has been reduced to a common $400 increment on Falcon Ute, R6 and XR6 models. The FG Falcon Ute range starts at $27,795 for the Falcon Ute Cab Chassis with the new six-speed manual transmission and extends up to $39,490 for both the XR6 Turbo and XR8 sports models with the optional ZF six-speed automatic transmission. A number of option packs are also offered on the FG Falcon Ute range, including a new XR Sports Pack, which is available on all XR Ute models including the XR6 Cab Chassis. The Technology Pack, which is available across the Falcon Ute range combines Bluetooth mobile phone integration with iPod Integration as per the sedan models, for a recommended retail price of $450. The Safety Pack ties together side head/thorax airbags and a perimeter alarm for a recommended retail price of $600, while the new XR Sports Pack packages together 18-inch alloy wheels, Bluetooth mobile phone integration and iPod Integration for $1,000 RRP. The XR Luxury Pack on XR Ute models also combines a host of key features – as per the XR sedan – which enables XR Ute customers to choose a premium sports specification for their vehicle. Available on XR6, XR6 Turbo and XR8 Styleside Box models, the XR Luxury Pack has a recommended retail price of $4,000 and includes leather seat trim, dual zone climate control, Premium audio system, sports steering wheel and interior finishes, and 19-inch alloy wheels/tyres. BF Falcon Wagon MkIII Recommended retail pricing for the new BF Falcon Wagon Mk III remains unchanged from the Mk II model, despite the addition of Dynamic Stability Control as standard equipment on the petrol model, along with a number of other changes and upgrades. The BF Falcon Wagon Mk III in XT specification level, fitted with the 4.0-litre I6 petrol engine and matched to the four-speed automatic transmission with Sequential Sports Shift will go on sale in May with a recommended retail price of $37,720. Pricing for the E-Gas dedicated LPG engine option also remains unchanged at $1,400. FG Falcon sedan pricing Model Transmission RRP^ ($)
