The DS3 Cabrio inherits the 'personality' of the hatchback. At 3.95m long, 1.71m wide and 1.46m high, it retains the
original’s compact proportions. The architecture of the DS3 Cabrio is fully in DS3 'character'. The canvas roof becomes
a new source of personalisation with a range of colours and designs that add to the car’s unique make-up. The new model
also features 3D LED lights at the rear and a chrome-finished handle that highlights the top of the tailgate.
A personal and unique automotive object
The DS3 Cabrio is available with three roof colours: Noir Onyx, Bleu Infini and Gris Monogram. The highly
sophisticated Bleu Infini canvas comprises delicate hues of blue and violet. The visual effect is obtained by a weave of
three different coloured threads, one of which is shiny. Each thread reacts differently to changes in light to further
emphasise the singular personality of the DS3 Cabrio. The DS logo features on the Gris Monogram canvas roof by
contrasting two grey tones with a Gris Moondust background (only available on DSport).
Citroen has maintained the distinctive floating roof feature by colouring the rear side panels black and echoing the
colour of the soft top on the upper part of the body sides, the front cross strip and the rear spoiler. When the Gris
Monogram roof is selected is the dash, gear knob wing mirror and wheels colour coded Gris Moondust. When a black or blue
roof is selected colour coded wing mirrors are included. The DStyle comes with a piano black dash and the DSport comes
with the Carbotech effect dash. As with all DS3s, the centre hub and key fob is colour coded to the body colour. The
atmosphere on board the DS3 Cabrio is just as distinctive as the body styling:
- The ceiling-mounted console, home to the roof opening control, features white LED ambiance lighting
- The instrument cluster and automatic air conditioning displays match the ambient lighting with their white lighting
- The inner lining of the soft-top roof underscores the high-end feel inside the DS3 Cabrio and provides top-notch
acoustic comfort
Hypnotic 3D LED tail lights
The DS3 Cabrio has a three-dimensional light signature based on all-new 3D LED tail-light technology. The design of
the lights is inspired by those on the Revolte and Survolt concept cars.
The central part of the light comprises a rectangular light guide of 31 LEDs and an ensemble of semi-reflecting
mirrors that reflect the light guide into infinity. The 3D unit lights up at night when the headlamps are turned on and
in daylight when the driver brakes. A 15-LED blade on the upper part of the light emphasises the 3D unit and serves as a
side and stopping light.
In an elegant piece of detailing, the 3D light features a chrome-finished DS logo set in an embossed black DS
setting.

THE ROAD FEEL OF A REAL DS3
The optimised architecture of the cabriolet model retains all of the agility and responsiveness of the original and
the DS3 Cabrio is just 25kg heavier than the DS3 hatchback.
This was achieved by using the same side architecture as the DS3 hatchback. The only structural reinforcement that had
to be added was around the boot.
Equipped with the same technical base as the regular DS3 – i.e. structural components and running gear – the Cabrio is
said to keep all of the handling that makes the DS3 a treat to drive while at the same time offering top-notch control
and safety. The DS3 Cabrio brings the driver into “contact with the road” for amazing ease in corners and bends.
Essentials behind DS3 Cabrio’s on-road performance:
- The chassis and running gear, with MacPherson-type suspension at the front and a flexible traverse beam at the rear,
are the result of high-precision development work
- Springs and damping have been developed to perfectly “read” the road, with excellent body roll control and impressive
poise in corners, while remaining easy to handle
- Bi-density shims on the rear axle effectively filter out road disturbances while ensuring excellent cross-wise
stability
- Steering is enhanced by a small-diameter wheel (363 mm) and a calibrated power setting to send back precise
information. This enables drivers to “place” the wheels exactly where they want, whatever the speed
- Development work, which also extended to seats and tyres, has ensured perfect course stability, bringing drivers a
reassuring feel of control
Efficient engines to match
The DS3 Cabrio is available with a choice between two 1.6 litre petrol engines:
- Available on DStyle is the 1.6-litre petrol engine which develops 88 kW of power and with maximum torque of 160Nm at
4,250rpm. This engine consumes 6.7 litres of fuel (combined cycle rating) and emits 154 g/km of CO2
- The DSport variant comes fitted with the 1.6-litre petrol engine producing 115 kW of power and with maximum torque
figure of 240 Nm from 1,400 rpm to 4,000rpm. The combined fuel consumption rating is 5.9 l/100km and the CO2 emissions
figure is 137 g/km
DESIGNED TO MAKE CABRIOLETS EASIER
The Citroen DS3 Cabrio was designed to bring occupants pleasure. It combines the advantages of a classic cabriolet
with the strong points of a hatchback. Top-down driving has never been this easy:
- The roof takes just 16 seconds to fully close, at speeds of up to 120km/h. Motorists open and close the roof with a
button in the ceiling console offering three opening positions: intermediate, horizontal and total. Even in horizontal
setting, the soft top folds back behind the rear passengers.
- Engineers worked hard on acoustics. First, by choosing top-quality canvas, with standard-setting soundproofing,
comparable to that of a hatchback when closed. But also by designing an aerodynamic deflector net for optimum acoustic
comfort with the canvas roof open. This component springs into action as soon as the roof opens, deflecting air currents
and preventing air buffeting.
- The design is also less invasive in terms of cabin space. The DS3 Cabrio has five real seats and the largest boot in
its category, at 245 litres. In a breakthrough in the segment, it has the same cabin space as its hatchback version. And
even retains the 60/40 split-folding rear bench, handy for a range of everyday needs. The tailgate has a particularly
original opening path (circular motion), which enables motorists to fully open the boot no matter what the space behind
(for example, when parked rear to wall).
- Work on aerodynamics has resulted in an SCx of 0.69 m2, identical to that of the hatchback, which enhances
performance but also helps to reduce CO2 emissions. More specifically, the impressive result was obtained by adding a
long spoiler and aerodynamic deflectors on the quarter-light surrounds.
Citroen DS Capped Price Servicing
All DS models come with the peace of mind of capped price servicing. This is $360 per year or 20,000 kms (whichever
comes first) for the first three years or 60,000km (whichever comes first) of the vehicle’s life.
