24th July, 2005 The Citroen C3 has hit the one million sales mark just three years after it was launched and it is now Europe's top-selling five door car in its market sector. The Citroen C3's success has been driven not just by the unique style and spacious interior, but also by its numerous versions, including the unique Citroen C3 Pluriel convertible and the child-friendly Citroen C3 XTR, as well as the new technology provided by the Citroen C3 Stop&Start and the C3 Gaz Natural. The Citroen C3 has even given a taste of technology to come with the self-parking experimental Citroen C3. Worldwide, the Citroen C3 is available in seven trim levels configured with two diesel engines: the HDi 53 kW and HDi 70 kW, and four petrol engines: the 1.6i 16V 83 kW, 1.4i 16V 68 kW, 1.4i 56 kW and 1.1i 46 kW. The C3 has played its part in taking Citroen sales to record levels in Australia and redefining the image of the French car maker in the local market. The Australia versions of the C3 include the five door in 1.4 litre and 1.6 litre versions, as well as the Citroen C3 XTR, along with the Citroen C3 Pluriel. Australian Citroen C3 production is built at Aulnay near Paris, with production at Citroen's Madrid plant in Spain and at the Citroen factory at Porto Real in Brazil also working to meet worldwide demand. |
