In 2005, Citroën beat its own sales record in Spain, with 213,000 registrations for an overall market share of 11.1%. The marque is No. 1 in the LCV market (with a market share of 13%) and No. 2 in the passenger car market (also 13% share).

Figures for the first three months of 2006 confirm Citroën's position as No. 1 on the Spanish LCV market for the tenth year running, with a market share of 13.56% and a 10.93% share for the combined car/LCV market.

Building on this success and with the most complete and modern range in its history, Citroën will be present at the Madrid International Motor Show between 25th May and 4th June 2006. The Citroën range, extending from the tiny C1 entry-level super mini to the C6 grand tourer, recently gained a number of new and varied vehicles. Although the new Jumper van, a versatile light commercial vehicle, will clearly rank among the favourites of the show, the marque is also displaying the C-Triomphe, a new notchback sedan from China.

The show also gives Citroën an opportunity to present the C5 featuring the new HDi 173 DPFS engine for dynamic, responsive performance, and the C4 equipped with the new 6-speed electronic gearbox system, matched to the HDi 110 DPFS engine for exceptional comfort and driveability. Both new models will go on sale, in Europe, from June. An Australian release date for these two new variants has not yet been announced.
