7th July, 2005 Demand for the new Citroen C4 has driven sales for the French car maker in Australia to record levels, with demand for the award-winning hatch and coupé out-stripping supply, and Citroen hitting an all-time monthly sales record in June, according to official figures released by VFACTS on Tuesday (5th July 2005). Citroen sales in Australia are up 17.1 per cent in the first six months of 2005, compared to 2004. In June Citroen sales rose by 29.5 per cent to hit an all-time monthly sales record. "The Citroen C4 has proven to be more successful than even our best hopes," says Miles Williams, General Manager for Citroen in Australia. "All versions are selling strongly with the top demand being for the Citroen C4 2.0 litre hatch and as we add more versions to the range, we fully expect new sales records to be a regular occurrence for Citroen in Australia." Launched in April, the Citroen C4 has been acclaimed for its unique pedestrian safety system, its stylish interior and features such as its fixed hub steering wheel and perfume dispenser that makes the Citroen C4 a breath of fresh air amongst other market offerings. With prices starting from $25,990 for both the hatch and coupe and long list of standard equipment, it is also clear that Citroën has not substituted style for value for money. |
