Outstanding April for Chrysler JeepChrysler and Jeep achieved
combined sales of 620 units in April giving the group its second biggest April
on record.
Propelled by the popularity of models such as the Jeep Cherokee and Jeep
Grand Cherokee, the result was 42 per cent up on last years April sales.
Chrysler Jeeps year to date sales were up an impressive 25 per cent compared
to the same time last year.
Sales for the ever popular Jeep Cherokee (256 units) soared 127 per cent over
last years April result (113 units).
The Iconic Jeep Wrangler (76 units sold) achieved substantial growth, with a
50 per cent increase on April 2003 sales.
Chrysler PT Cruiser also had a solid month (59 units sold), taking year to
date sales to 302, a 31% increase on the respective April 2003 figure.
Strong growth will continue to be a feature of the Chrysler Group through
2004, noted Brad Fitzsimmons, National Sales Manager. "We expect increasing
sales volumes in 2004 for both brands and will continue to build on the Chrysler
Group's position as one of the most innovative automobile companies in the
world,” said Fitzsimmons.
"It was a great April helped by the magnificent Extreme Sport and DVD value
packages available. It is fitting to have such strong results in the month that
marks the 10 year anniversary of the return of Chrysler Group products to
Australia,” concluded Fitzsimmons.
Chrysler Jeep is in a strong position and poised to enjoy continued growth
with exciting new products on the way, including the Chrysler Crossfire
Roadster.
