Over 600 vehicles are expected to be on display at the 17th annual Chryslers
on the Murray event which will be held this weekend (14th - 15th March, 2009) at Sumsion Gardens, Wodonga (Victoria). The
popular two day event will attract Chrysler enthusiasts from all over Australia and New Zealand.
The Mopar division of Chrysler Australia will be on-site with Mopar merchandise and the all important Dodge Pro Stock
Drag Car. Also on display will be some of the latest models from Chrysler Australia along with a muscle car display.
“We are pleased to support such an important event on the calendar” said Robert Moorcroft General Manager of
After Sales, “It’s a great opportunity to meet our loyal Chrysler enthusiasts.”
Dodge Pro Stock drag racer Lee Bektash will be on hand to sign posters and merchandise each day of the event. Lee is
currently ranked 3rd in the ANDRA Pro Stock series.
Muscle cars on display will include Chrysler models both past and present. With the number of entrants increasing each
year the annual event is definitely one to have on the calendar. Approximately fifty muscle cars will be in attendance,
including Chargers and Challengers, Plymouth Baracudas and, of course, a 'sea' of Aussie built Valiant models.

Chrysler Australia will support Northern Motor Group with a massive amount of Chrysler Jeep Dodge and Mopar apparel
and accessories. With items starting from just $5 they are sure to have something to interest everyone.
The Saturday afternoon activities will conclude with a Super-Cruiser to the northern outskirts of Albury, with a
Valiant AP5, AP6 and VC photo shoot. A show 'n' shine event will take place on Sunday, attracting over 600 show cars and
10,000 spectators to the banks of the Murray River.
The Chryslers on the Murray is the largest gathering of Chrysler vehicles in the Southern Hemisphere.
This is the last time this event will be held at Sumsion Gardens. Next year a new location will offer a huge amount of
space with new ground offering twice the size as 2009. The ground won’t be so dusty and the Albury Wodonga Chrysler Club
will be donating $10,000 towards getting the surrounding road sealed.
