- Best monthly sales performance in eight years
- Best mid year result since 1997
The Chrysler Group have posted another record performance in June,
achieving combined sales of 880 units - its best monthly sales result
in over eight years.
Consisting of the Chrysler and Jeep brands, Chrysler
Group monthly sales were up 31 per cent over the respective 2005
performance according to VFACTS figures released last week.
On the back of strong demand for its growing product range, year-to-date
sales of 4,284 are up 16 per cent over 2005, delivering the Group’s best
mid-year result in over eight years.
“Customers are switching on to our unique products,” said Gerry Jenkins,
managing director, Chrysler Group Australia.
“We have had an excellent first six months of the year and Dodge is just
around the corner,” he said.
The Chrysler brand drove the impressive result with 375 registrations for the
month, an increase of 86 per cent over June 2005, making it the eighth
consecutive month that Chrysler have achieved year-over-year sales growth.
“The 300C is still turning more heads than any other vehicle on the road and
our unique segment offerings, in the 300C Touring and turbo diesel models, are
sparking even more interest,” said Jenkins.
For the Jeep brand, in its first full month on sale, the seven-seat Jeep
Commander posted a retail performance of just 70 units delivered.
Sales for the mid-sized Jeep Cherokee were 187, a five per cent growth over
last year’s June result.
Jeep sales of 505 finished up seven per cent for the month over 2005.
